Jai Mrug – Jai’s name has now become synonymous with elections in India, having helped India understand the electoral process and mandates better with a host of media organisations. Now a renowned political commentator and psephologist, Jai started out as a trained operational researcher from IIT Bombay with a post graduation specialization in Market Research and Design. One of the co-founders of the agency, he has been active in the field of Political & Social Research since 1996. Having worked on a number of election related projects for the last twenty years covering five LokSabha elections and several assembly elections, Jai can decipher every electoral equation. He has been a participant in a number of field surveys that studied political behavior in modern India, and has a keen sense of how to link numbers with the overall political mood. Tarit Prakash – Tarit’s ability and hardwork as an election analyst and research consultant, makes him lead the VMR Team. Starting as a journalist being alumni of Indian Institute of Mass Communication, New Delhi, Tarit branched into election research. He has a rich work experience having worked with a number of media agencies as a consultant while simultaneously conducting election research for various clients since 1998. As an election analyst with a deep understanding of the Indian electoral process, especially with data crunching and forecasting, his expertise includes survey design, fieldwork monitoring and qualitative evaluation of even the smallest unit in an election like an assembly segment or a municipal ward.
